Snicker!

Baby, I love ya but I just can't smile!:D

President Bush looks like he's got the snickers and they are about to explode.

His face cracks me up!

He's my daddy.......

I have a Maker
He formed my heart
Before even time began
My life was in his hands

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
He hears me when I call

I have a Father
He calls me His own
He'll never leave me
No matter where I go

He knows my name
He knows my every thought
He sees each tear that falls
He hears me when I call
Jeremiah 1:5"Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee."

He's in the Whirlwind........

This last week has been exhausting. It is our turn for the crazy storms this year and we have been under severe storm warnings for the last 4 days straight.

A city, an hour and half, southwest of us made national news due to being completely obliterated by a tornado over the weekend. And yes, I mean the whole city is gone. The only things left standing were the courthouse and the grain elevator. They were struck by an EF5 tornado which was 1.5 miles wide and was staying on the ground for an average of 200 miles at a time. It is highly unusual that a tornado would stay on the ground for that far/long. We were up all night Friday night tracking that storm as it traveled just about 30 minutes straight west from our home.

The following day the whole state was under a tornado watch for a period of time and everything west of I-35 was under tornado watches and warnings for over 24 hours. Last night about 5:45 pm all of the local sirens started screaming their warnings as 4 tornadoes were playing havoc around our city, with extreme rain wrapped rotation centering directly over our church. God was good, no one was hurt and no damage was done as they basically just touched and lifted, but we had flash floods again from the incredible amounts of rain that we keep getting. I keep reminding myself that God said he would not destroy the world with floods again.:)

I used to really enjoy these things, but am a little more nervous of them the older I get, although if I'm behind them, I am not half as nervous as when in front of them. I almost drove right up into one last year and watched it pick up a van in front of me, turn it around, and drop it back down going the opposite way. It was kind of cool, but I bet the lady driving that van did not think that. It snapped 4 power poles and a restaurant sign in two in front of me. I figured I might better pull into the church parking lot and wait it out for a minute.

The good thing of it all, as our associate Pastor reminded us last night, is that our God is in the Whirlwind. Nahum 1:3 " The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet." As long as God is in control, everything is going to be all right.

Here are some pics of this weekends catastrophic damage:

A whole little city obliterated, neighborhood after neighborhood, over a 1,000 lives displaced....

I heard this song on the radio this morning while listening for weather news and thought "how appropriate."

Bring On The Rain:
(Jo Dee Messina with Tim McGraw)(Billy Montana/Helen Darling)

Another day has almost come and gone
Can’t imagine what else could wrong
Sometimes I’d like to hide away somewhere and lock the door
A single battle lost but not the war

(‘cause)Tomorrow’s another day
And I’m thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain

It’s almost like the hard times circle ‘round
A couple drops and they all start coming down
Yeah, I might feel defeated,I might hang my head
I might be barely breathing - but I’m not dead

Tomorrow’s another day
And I’m thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain

I’m not gonna let it get me down
I’m not gonna cry
And I’m not gonna lose any sleep tonight

Tomorrow’s another day
And I’m thirsty anyway
So bring on the rain

We are so ready for some sunshine........
