Florida.....

Florida Day 2: Tampa is pretty. However, I think that St. Petersburg is prettier. We skipped church last night and went to The Pier in St. Petersburg. There was a global impact presentation and my dad and brother had already heard that at every meeting so they were not too hyped to hear it again.

The Forum where the services are held is on the water and is a pretty view with all of the palm trees. The exhibits are two blocks away at the convention center, so we are all getting our exercise.:) I am getting quite comfortable with this area as I have been exploring while the guys are in their business meetings. I was going to go to Orlando today, but it was an hour and a half away and I figured that my dad would probably freak out if I went exploring over there by myself. Instead I found a Dillard's and went shopping.

We ate at Captain Al's on The Pier last night and yum, my grouper sandwich was absolutely delish. Then we wandered down to talk to all of the fishermen and to check out their catches. We saw a couple of small sharks that had been caught and that was interesting. Then my brother drove like a maniac back to Tampa so we were prayed through and worn out by time we got back to the hotel.:)

Tampa

Quick Post! We are in Tampa and wow, I thought Kansas was humid. There is much greater humidity down here than what we are used to. We caught a bit of the singspiration last night, and what we got was the good part. Sis. Vesta Mangun sang after she received her award and it was like old time pentecost.

I am getting ready to go explore. My dad is currently in the business sessions and I am interested to see how things go there. However, right now I have some free time, although, I have to be at a PMA meeting at 2:00, so I am looking for some good shopping and a pretty place to take pictures.

I got some neat pictures of the wing of our plane yesterday. I know, not the most interesting thing to take pictures of but the way the sun was shining on it was pretty so I took pics. That is called boredom while flying. We flew over the gulf for quite a while and it was so green. I am always intrigued by the water. This is being typed on the computer here at the hotel as I decided I was not going to lug a laptop around this trip so will post more if I get a chance, but will upload pictures when I get home.

Bro. Haney preaches tonight, but tomorrow night is the night I really enjoy and look forward to. It will be the missionary service. I'm lovin' Florida, although, I haven't seen much yet. It does not take much to make me happy though, warm weather, beaches and water, and palm trees.:) Love it, love it. We are going to try to play tourist before we leave Sat. so hopefully we get some time.

Let's go to Florida.......

Fall is in the air.....

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 "1TO EVERYTHING there is a season, and a time for every matter or purpose under heaven:
2A time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to pluck up what is planted,(A)
3A time to kill and a time to heal, a time to break down and a time to build up,
4A time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
5A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together, a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing,
6A time to get and a time to lose, a time to keep and a time to cast away,
7A time to rend and a time to sew, a time to keep silence and a time to speak,(B)
8A time to love and a time to hate, a time for war and a time for peace.(C)"

Yesterday was the first day of fall, now if the weather will just cooperate....:)

The changing of the seasons are always my favorite times of the year and fall/spring are my favorite seasons. Out with the old and in with the new. Change, although at times painful, is so refreshing. I'm ready for cooler days, the colors of the season, and the holiday fun that is to come. What a great time of the year.....

Our walk with God is the same. We go through seasons; seasons of newness, seasons of monotony, seasons where it seems there is a lack of growth, seasons of incredible growth, seasons of rejoicing, seasons of mourning, seasons of absolute exhaustion, seasons of intense refreshing, and the list goes on and on. However, no matter what season we are in, God is still the same. He is the one constant, the One absolute in every situation, moment and time of our existence.

The really awesome thing about God is that no matter how dreary the season seems, each day is an opportunity for refreshing. Revelations 21:5 states "And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful." Lamentations 3:22-23 reminds us that "22It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." Tomorrow is a brand new day, it's a new season, a moment of change to be embraced. It's time to leave a weary yesterday behind and walk into a refreshing, faith-filled tomorrow.

I believe that this is how God feels about his bride, the church. No matter what comes or what goes, God is not going to let those who are truly his go. His love is strong and true. I'm so glad....

World's Largest Cylindrical Aquarium.....

A friend sent this to me in an email. I'd love to see it in real life as I have always been intriqued with aquariums. Specifically, salt water aquariuams.

World's Largest Cylindrical Aquarium
January 16th 2007 04:56

The AquaDom in Berlin, Germany, is a 14 meter tall cylindrical acrylic glass fish tank with built-in transparent elevator. It is located in Berlin-Mitte, in the DomAquarée complex, which also contains a hotel, offices, a restaurant, and the aquarium Sea Life Center.
Filled with about 900,000 liters of seawater, it contains some 2600 fish of 56 species. The feeding of the fish and the cleaning of the fish tank is performed daily by divers.

Combined with a vast amount of sandblasted glass, the giant
AquaDom gives a transparent-like feeling to the lobby.

Guests and visitors are able to travel through the aquarium in a glass-enclosed elevator to reach a sightseeing point and restaurant under the glass roof.

Two full-time divers are responsible for the care and feeding of the fish and maintenance of the aquarium. Some of the interior rooms and suites look out over the atrium, offering "ocean views" of the AquaDom

Construction:

The AquaDom was opened in December 2003. It cost about 12.8 million euros. The acrylic glass cylinder was constructed by the U.S. company Reynolds Polymer Technology. The outside cylinder was manufactured on-site from four pieces; the inside cylinder for the elevator was delivered in one piece. The Aquadom is the largest acrylic glass cylinder in the world, with a diameter of over 11 meters built on a 9 meters tall concrete foundation.
