It is frigid here in the good ole' wheatstate! In fact that cow up there is probably frozen stiff. It has been in the single digits for the last week until Sat. then got up into the 50's over the weekend. Yesterday it was 70 degrees when I left work. This morning when I went to start the car it was 8*. Just a slight change in temperature...... :D
I got locked in my car this morning. It was quite the experience. I can only imagine what my neighbors thought when they saw me standing on the seats jiggling the locks on the doors trying to find one that would open so I could get out! That will teach me to wash the car on a 70* night when a cold front is moving in. Thank the Lord, I finally got the passenger door to open and was able to climb out over the console. :D I laughed so hard, once I got over being mad.
School is swinging, and I am attempting my best to keep up. There are some great discussion questions coming up already on the postings. I will try to share some at a later date.
We are heading to TN. tomorrow for a wedding this weekend. Hope the weather holds and the sun shines. Life is good.

Heath Ledger Found Dead
So sad..... This is the second, possibly drug related overdose, or suicide death that I have read of a handsome, successful by the world's standards, famous, 20 something male actor, in the last 2 weeks. It simply goes to show one that looks, fame, sex, wealth, homes and acclaim do not guarantee happiness.
Only Jesus can satisfy your soul.......

School Time Again....

Well, school has officially started, both where I work and for me personally. The year is off to a grand start. I am now officially a FHSU Tiger. :) However, I will forever be a Jayhawk above and beyond all that. ;) Rock Chalk Jayhawk, oomph! Okay, I'll stop with the sports jargon and get on with this blog. I've checked into my classes, which are all online this time. This will be a completely new experience for me. I tend to be extremely social and love the interaction and environment of the college classroom, so am not sure how much I am going to like the virtual experience. It is handy in the sense that I can access it from anywhere I am, so that part will be enjoyable.
My new little MacBook came in and ooohhh, I think I might be falling in love. My classes this semester are Intro to Graduate Liberal Studies; School and Community Relations; and Origins and Implications of the Knowledge Society. The whole idea of this is to tip my toes into the water and sorta get my feet weight before getting into some real weighty stuff. In addition to these, for fun, I am taking a basic photography class at the college where I work. So, I will get a little class action there hopefully. It is amazing to me how excited I am about going to school. I told my mom the other day that normal people aren't typically so excited about going to school, so I must not be normal. That might be stereotyping, but most people are like "aww I have to go back to school." Moi, it's like "whoohoo I get to go back to school." I have to admit that I love this stuff. Hopefully, I will have some deep thoughts to explore on here the more we begin to dig into some of these subjects.
This weekend is a 3-dayer, Thank you kindly Dr. Martin Luther King. I have a dream. To travel, finish my schooling, be financially sound and spiritually grounded, to make a huge difference in the world that I live in, to share with people how grand it is to have God in one's life, to have a secure future and, most of all, to end it all in that beautiful place called Heaven. Life is good and God is better. Fun times ahead.

It's a New Season.....
It's the New Year! Yay!!! I am so excited. An opportunity to start fresh and with a new vision is always welcome. The Holidays were fab. My Christmas vacation started in San Diego where I had a wonderful time with some very special friends. They were so kind to me and welcomed me into their home for the holidays. After the hectic pace of the last few months, a quiet hiding place was a grand reprieve. I would share photos except I forgot to take pictures. The trip was so relaxing that my camera was an afterthought.
Following my trip to San Diego, I flew into Denver, CO. and headed south to see my family for a few days. The flight was uneventful despite the fact that I did not know whether we were landing on the runway or in a farmer's field as they both looked the same due to all of the snow. Our pilot was experienced and did his job well, praise the maker. We made it okay once we got past the insane roads from Denver to Monument Pass. The weekend was great and it was so nice to be with my niece and nephews and their parents and to be able to visit with my precious Pueblo family and friends.
New Year's Eve I flew home for our watch night service and partied for New Years with my family and friends here at home. What a great time we had. The rest of my vacation was spent cleaning and organizing for the New Year. This week it's back to work and finishing up all the little stuff before starting my Master's program next week.
Let the fun begin....... :)
