A Letter from Lydia

This is a lengthy post; however, I wanted to share it with you. Lydia is my friend and was my room-mate for the 1st four months or so after she became a new convert in our church. She lived in Vienna Austria, I believe, for about 5 years and shared many tales with me concerning the differences between our great nation and that country. Wow!! You wonder why I am so against socialism? Well, in addition to the fact that I personally visited Germany in 2001 and experienced horrors such as Dachau first hand, and heard the elders beg us to tell their youth how Neo-Naziism was a poison they were playing with, stories such as this contribute to my concerns. Here is a small piece of Lydia's story, please read and think.
~Anna

"Hi, my name is Lydia.
A friend of mine asked me to write some of my experience's from when I lived in Vienna, Austria. I didn't go over there as military personnel, I am a civilian. I actually worked as an English teacher and also as a waitress in different (British) English pubs, most of the people work two jobs. One a bonefied job that can be taxed and the other is called "black work" in which the socialist government doesn't know about so the money they get is cold hard cash.

Now, if you are military I want to take a moment and say -
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!
YOU TRULY DO KEEP THIS COUNTRY SAFE!!!!!!!

You volunteer your service to us and your country. In Austria, and most other countries around the globe, the men don't have a choice. They are forced by law at the age of 18 for at least 2 years of service. That's a part of socialism and communism and dictatorship.

Austria is a very beautiful country (which I love and is a part of me) and also a VERY socialist country. Socialism screams out with healthcare for everyone! Spread the wealth!!! Tax the "rich". "Gun control". Taxes taxes taxes, I mean hey, every country needs what I called the TV Gestapo! Right? Don't know what the TV Gestapo is??? Let me explain...

I thought they were military police in the airport carrying big M16's, come to find out they are ordinary police! Yes, and there's a HUGE down play on any one else carrying or owning a gun... in fact I can't think of ONE - NOT - ONE person that I knew over there in the FIVE years I was there, that had one!!!! I don't even remember seeing them in the toy sections. People over there always commented on our "guns" but you know what, that is an American RIGHT - to carry and bear arms!!!

These guys with the M16's come to your door, without a search warrant, to find out if you have a TV in your home that the government don't know about. See, you are taxed on everything! If you own a radio or a TV, VCR, DVD player, you have to pay yearly taxes because you own one! And if you aren't on the record as owning one and they find one in your home, guess what? They estimate the age of your equipment and you have to pay BACK taxes on it! Can you imagine??? Yes. I know it sounds amazing, it is. We live in such a free country that these things sound UNBELIEVABLE!

I had a girlfriend over there that this happened too! She is from New Jersey and had married and Italian guy (both fabulous people) and they lived in Vienna too. Well, the TV Gestapo came to her home. Pounding on the door as she tried to carry her TV and hide it. All the while trying to explain to them that her husband wasn't home and she didn't speak German. My guess is, they didn't barge in because of her being an American, wouldn't look good on CNN! They don't hang out their dirty laundry for the world. Thank goodness we are both state side again!
SEE, YOUR PRIVILEGED RIGHTS AS AN AMERICAN,
FOLLOW YOU TO EUROPE!!!!

WHAT? You would like another example of socialism??? Ok.
Over there you have to register, where you live, phone number, nationality, and your religion, every time you move to a different district (area of the city). I put down non-denominational Christian, cause that's what I was at the time... undecided! HA! Anyway...
After landing my first job, I was sent a letter demanding my pay stub, so that I could pay "tithes" to the catholic church.

Nothing against Catholics. BUT! We are in Austria right now, remember??? Where they filmed "the sound of music". Okay... where was I? Now the catholic church is the dominating church by like, 97%. And very close with the government, like we read in medieval history. My friend told them on the phone that I am not a catholic that I am non-denominational.
I received another letter in the mail telling me that if I didn't send them my pay stub, I was going to be sued for the tithe that was owed to them!!!! They said I stated that I was roman catholic on my registration. Are you serious??? Scroll back up - non denominational Christian - doesn't read like catholic to me a blatant LIE. I called them this time, explained that I am an American woman, and yes I have to abide by Austrian law, but that I had not stated roman catholic on my registration, I had the original, plus they couldn't take away my American rights. I didn't have to tell them my race, sex, creed, religion, etcetera... and that if they continued this, it would be me suing them. They closed my case right then and there.
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!

Hold on, the worse is yet to come. Let's talk about the meaning of healthcare by the government:

I had an cyst that was about the size of a golf ball by the time I was able to go into surgery. They knocked me out (thank goodness) but afterwards the real trial came.
I wasn't given any pain medication, not even tylenol or ibuprofen! The incision was left open, because they hadn't drained all the fluid... YES, left open, no pain relievers... YES, I had asked for them...
They came in 3 to 4 times a day with these huge tweezers looking things, always a different doctor. And would hold that incision open and pull out the gauze with these huge tweezers and then flush the wound with iodine and stuff it back up with the huge tweezers... Oh my how I still cringe and grit my teeth just writing this to you. Torture.
I endured that for FOUR days. That hospital room that was like a great hall. Six beds on one side, six on the other. No curtains separating the beds. I shared that room with women who hadn't taken a shower in a long long long time... without air-conditioning, it was hot. Horrible. And the PAIN. PAIN. PAIN.
Yeah, I never saw a bill for that, if I had, I wouldn't have paid it. Not for that kind of
treatment! I would prefer to be treated as a HUMAN BEING and get a bill, than a dog with free healthcare...

Okay, let's talk a moment. Where does the money come from for the healthcare for everyone? Tax money. Okay. Now where does that kind of money come from? Let's tax the "rich" business owners. Okay, now they have a heavy tax burden... where do they get the money to pay those extra taxes? Well, when they sell the stuff to you and I, they up the price and also put sales tax on us.
So, taxing the "rich" has an adverse affect on the poor to middle class. See, the "rich" that everyone thinks are going to "pay" aren't going to loose THEIR money! They will just raise the prices on everything (called inflation) so that THEY aren't loosing so much money - to an already FAT government.... THINK AMERICANS!!!

When I went to Vienna, I thought it was great, till I was treated like a Viennese. I didn't love my country like she deserved when I went after turning 21, but when I came back I knew the feeling of wanting to kiss the ground when I landed!
NO NO NO Rev. Wright, not God D__ America... I would love to send him over sea's to Europe and let him stay and work and see the people... experience what I did. I believe he would come back different and say as I do:

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!
GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!

AND ALL SHE STANDS FOR!!!!!

Remember when you vote, vote to keep America free!!! Vote to keep her safe! Vote for those who love her as I do... even with her faults, hey nobody is perfect!

God's blessing to you all,
Lydia

P.S. Please forward this along to everyone you know... they have to know the truth about socialism. All the dirty laundry must come out."

Obama Song

This was posted on a friend's facebook today. It struck me as quite humorous and true.

Song Written By Greg Ventura about Barack Obama..Share
Yesterday at 6:46pm
To the tune of Simon and Garfunkel's song "I am a rock"

Written to the tune of "I am a rock" by Simon and Garfunkel

A voter's day
On a deep and dark November
I'm on a throne
Gazing from my pillars to the folks below
So much about me I dont want them to know
I am Barack
Obama been lyin
I'll make laws
Taxes big and mighty
Welfare I'll generate
I have no need of plumbers, preachers cause me pain
It's Sarah and McCain that i disdain
I am...(refrain)
Don't talk of race
Well I've heard the word before
From Bill and Hillary
I won't distort the number of voters on my side
Even if they register people that have died
I am...(refrain)
I have my crooks and my cronies to protect me
I'm shielded by the media
Hiding from my doom
Nothing's safe from me soon
I touch no one and no one touches me
I am...(refrain)
And Barack feels McCain
And giving him some sighs

Apple says "No to Prop 8"

This caught my attention when my mac pulled up the Apple homepage. Apple had this proudly listed as Top News on their front page. Note of interest for all of the conservative "mac lovers" out there:

October 24, 2008
No on Prop 8
"Apple is publicly opposing Proposition 8 and making a donation of $100,000 to the No on 8 campaign. Apple was among the first California companies to offer equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners, and we strongly believe that a person’s fundamental rights — including the right to marry — should not be affected by their sexual orientation. Apple views this as a civil rights issue, rather than just a political issue, and is therefore speaking out publicly against Proposition 8."

Passing the Torch 2008

Life changing, power packed, anointed, visionary, and restorative. These are just a few of the adjectives that come to mind when looking back at the week of October 8-10, 2008.  It was beyond my ability to be present the first night of the conference. This was due to barely returning from the PI two weeks before.  Jobs tend to want employees present at some point in time. :) However, God made a way for me to have Thursday and Friday off without dipping into what little vacation time I had left.

I drove in on Wednesday night and arrived in time to say "hello" to a few friends at the minister's fellowship following service, before they said their "good nights."  Immediately I was inundated with the report of what a powerful sermon Bro. Booker preached on how that "God's currency is faith!"  Thursday Morning started off strongly with Bro. Todd Bertram stepping in to fill the place of Bro. Larry Romero.  Bro. Bertram followed the Holy Ghost preaching "And The Mantle Fell." He encouraged us to "see" in the spirit. He enlightened us as to how the longer we spend in darkness the more that our spiritual sight will be damaged.

Bro. Booker followed Bro. Bertram with "The Power of True Motherhood."  He told once again the story of the two harlots who went before King Solomon to determine the parentage of a child.  In his skillful way of weaving a tale, he impressed upon us the angst, the love, and the burden of a true mother over her child as a deep move of the spirit filled the house.  Thursday evening, Bishop Nathaniel Wilson told a simple story on "The book of Judges" that was not quite a "simple" story after all.  If one is interested in hearing the plight of their current nation reiterated through a biblical account, and the end and cause thereof, this sermon is vital piece of a preaching library. As he gathered the children around, his "simple" story came to life. The spirit began to reveal how this tied in to what we are experiencing this very hour, to those who were tuned in to truly "listen."

Friday began with Bro. Nate Wilson once again encouraging us to step up as he ministered to us regarding "The Challenge of Greatness."  I made up my mind, no matter what goes on in my life, with God's help, I will attain greatness!  My course is set, my vision is sure.  Bro. Cody Marks followed him and ministered about Jacob's journey through "Learning to Love Leah." Wow!! What revelatory insight God opened up in my mind regarding how Jacob's pain, and that which he disregarded, brought him greater blessing and expanded his bloodline, compared to the beauty in his life.

Friday Evening started off with Bro. Maceo leading the house in worship about the soon return of the Lord and our soon coming journey to heaven.  As soon as he started singing, I had a feeling that Bro. Godair would be preaching on heaven.  Why?  That is just typically the way that Bro. Mace works when he is moving in the spirit.  And yes, Bro. Godair ended the conference with a beautiful reminder of "The Preparing" and how incredible heaven is going to be.  When we experience all of the things that God has prepared in 7 days, just think of what he's had time to prepare in the last 2000 years.  Simply Amazing!!! The evening ended with Bro. Marks once again moving in the spirit and saints humbled by a deep moving of the Holy Ghost.

Last year 43 received the HG on the Friday night of the conference.  This year numerous received a first time HG experience with a number of backsliders being restored and 1 individual being baptized.  However, a depth was present that did a work in churches and opened a revelation in the minds of God's people what is ahead if only we become, and stay, visionary.  This is a conference to put on your radar, especially if you are located in the Midwest and western slopes of the United States.  The 2009 dates are October 7,8, and 9.  Christian Growth Center is definitely a First Class Church Serving a First Class God.  Their vision, commitment and love for righteousness was apparent in every aspect of their servant hood throughout the conference.  From the worship leading to the serving after church, this precious body exemplified the vision of their Bishop and First Lady.

Prophecies came forth about revival in the Colorado district extending from the implementation of this conference.  God has great things ahead and I see each year growing in greatness from here on out.  CD's can be purchased at CGC; however, the services also were broadcast live by Holy Ghost radio and are now archived on the CGC website.  Listen online here. Get ready to be blessed, renewed, and encouraged in the Lord.
