Is Swoopo Really So Cool?
What is It?
Do you know what this chemical is?
Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is a colorless and odorless chemical compound, also referred to by some as Dihydrogen Oxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, Hydronium Hydroxide, or simply Hydric acid. Its basis is the unstable radical Hydroxide, the components of which are found in a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds such as Sulfuric Acid, Nitroglycerine and Ethyl Alcohol.
Here are some facts about this dangerous substance:
-Causes excessive sweating and vomiting.
-Major component of acid rain.
-Can cause severe burns in it's gaseous state.
-Accidental inhalation can kill you.
-Primary contributor to erosion.
-Decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.
-Has been found in tumors of terminal cancer patients.
-May dissolve metal ions especially in the presence of road salt.
-Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks.
-Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere, and in hurricanes including deadly storms in Florida, New Orleans and other areas of the southeastern U.S.
-Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect.
-WARNING: Causes extreme addiction. Once consumed for the first time, the body develops an intense physical dependence on it. Going without it would kill any addict adventurous enough to try. It's the most addictive substance in the world. More than 6 billion people rely on this chemical.
The following is a list of some well known uses for Dihydrogen Monoxide.
-as an industrial solvent and coolant,
-in nuclear power plants,
-by the U.S. Navy in the propulsion systems of some older vessels,
-by elite athletes to improve performance,
-in the production of Styrofoam,
-in biological and chemical weapons manufacture,
-in the development of genetically engineering crops and animals,
-as a spray-on fire suppressant and retardant,
-in so-called "family planning" or "reproductive health" clinics,
-as a major ingredient in many home-brewed bombs,
-as a byproduct of hydrocarbon combustion in furnaces and air conditioning compressor operation,
-in cult rituals,
-by the Church of Scientology on their members and their members' families (although surprisingly, many members recently have contacted DHMO.org to vehemently deny such use), -by both the KKK and the NAACP during rallies and marches,
-by members of Congress who are under investigation for financial corruption and inappropriate IM behavior,
-by the clientele at a number of bath houses in New York City and San Francisco,
-historically, in Hitler's death camps in Nazi Germany, and in prisons in Turkey, Serbia, Croatia, Libya, Iraq and Iran,
-in World War II prison camps in Japan, and in prisons in China, for various forms of torture,
-during many recent religious and ethnic wars in the Middle East,
-by many terrorist organizations including al Quaeda,
-in community swimming pools to maintain chemical balance,
-by software engineers, including those producing DICOM software SDKs,
-in animal research laboratories, and
-in pesticide production and distribution.
A recent stunning revelation is that in every single instance of violence in our country's schools, including infamous shootings in high schools in Denver and Arkansas, Dihydrogen Monoxide was involved. In fact, DHMO is often very available to students of all ages within the assumed safe confines of school buildings. None of the school administrators with which we spoke could say for certain how much of the substance is in use within their very hallways. Educate your friends! No one is safe from this ruthless chemical.

I have been tagged by the most intelligent K, of the rockies region, to list 7 random things. Here goes:
1. I am a severe arachnophobic, to the point of ridiculousness. I about slapped my arm off the other night because a spider was crawling up it while I was sitting on the bed.
2. Randomness is my second nature.
3. I'm intrigued by people with Tourette's Disorder. Not sure why.....
4. I cut circles in the middle of pancakes for the syrup to flow into.
5. My current learning curve = the realization that relationships are a two-way street and that my independence has to give. Ouch!
6. When I laugh really hard, it is hard for me to stop. And yes, at times I have shrieked with laughter. Most un-lady like and politically correct.
7. My voice has been gone since I came home from the PI. I think I left it there, and am sort of afraid that I will never sing again. Maybe when I get some sleep, it will come back. (hopefully)
If you enjoy this sort of thing and would like to list 7 random things about you, please consider yourself tagged.

Swoopo

Wow!! Way Cool! A friend of mine just won a $200.00 camera for a cool $50.00. Check it out here. It is almost like ebay but much more intense and can be quite time consuming. There are definitely some great deals to be had, if one has the time to participate in the bid wars. Neat stuff.....

Checking Myself!

Think folks don't pay attention to what we do, then say? Opponents of proposition 8 are dissecting the actions of individuals who voted for Obama, then voted in support of prop 8. *The question seems to be why people who define marriage as being between one man and one woman would vote for a president that, although, says he does not support homosexual marriage would oppose a constitutional ban of homosexual "civil unions" (whatever that is). According to http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/issues/issues.samesexmarriage.html: "As stated on the Obama campaign Web site, he supports full civil unions that "give same-sex couples equal legal rights and privileges as married couples, including the right to assist their loved ones in times of emergency as well as equal health insurance, employment benefits, and property and adoption rights."
There were discrepancies in age groups and racial groups. One News reports that although African American's overwhelmingly voted for Obama, 7 out of 10 of them voted in favor of Prop 8. Now the discrepancies in the votes may come under question as homosexual activists attempt to overturn prop 8 in court. One News reports "Denise Fernandez, a 57-year-old black woman from Sacramento, said she voted for Obama and Proposition 8. "I believe a Christian is held accountable," she said." Tad bit contradictory, hmmm.....
Read more here. What was it that Martin Luther King said about "don’t judge someone by the color of their skin but by the content of their character?" This should apply to any situation for people of all races and nationalities. However, this article made me check myself. Why? Because as Christians sometimes we get on our bandwagon, then we don't always live what we preach. Our lives are a living testimony in every single way. People that we work with, people that we witness to, people that we get in discussions with, people that we are friends with, they are watching every move we make. We may not feel that this is necessarily fair, but it is true nonetheless.
We are the salt of the earth, the light of the world and a city that is set on a hill. At least that is what the word of God tells us. We are not hid; therefore, we must be careful of how we live and what we get caught up in. We are responsible for our actions and the choices we make. Each and every one. God is going to hold us accountable; however, so will people!

Election Day 2008

I cast my vote today. I cast my vote not specifically based on a political affiliation. Rather, I attempted to base my vote on biblical principles that are important to me, followed by my ideals for government. I actually voted a straighter ballot today than I probably have in all of the years that I have voted. I believe, that this election deals with biblical principles that should be important to all Bible believers. This election, I have been quite more publicly vocal than ever before concerning my participation in an election. This is due to the fact that I believe this election is truly a fight for the future of a patriotic, moral, and balanced nation. It is my belief that if we don't Stand for something, we will Fall for anything.
As I meditated on all of the things possibly facing us in the days ahead, I began to pray. My prayer was that God would strengthen his church, that he would strengthen me, and that we would (no matter what) keep our hope in Him. My God is faithful! That is one thing I know without a single doubt. In thinking on all of these things, my questing mind began to wonder. If we were to vote for a candidate that endorsed all of the things that God is not only against, but many things he says in his word that he abhors, are we guilty, by association, of committing those crimes against our God? I don't know the answer. But the preachers in my life are probably going to get sick of me bugging them for answers. :D Oh well, they are used to their forever-seeking, inquisitive little sister asking them the odd questions in life.
Happy Election Day! If you haven't already, get out and VOTE! Support your nation. :) Make History!

VOTE!!! And Make it Count.....
We all are aware that this election is an extremely crucial election. It is crucial to the future of our nation and our ability to call ourselves the land of the free and the home of the brave. It is crucial to the future of our children and our ability as parents (for those who are) to make the choice to educate our children as we so choose. It is crucial to the protection of our right to bear arms. It is crucial to the fight against aborting babies pre-born or post-born.
It is crucial to the mentality of our nation. The mentality to be a nation of entrepreneurs and ingenious individuals; or to the cultivation of a generation of welfare expectant individuals, who believe it is their due to be supported by the government and tax payer dollars. It is crucial to the preservation of the sanctity of marriage and to the preservation of the definition of marriage as a union between one man and one woman. And the list goes on.....
A soldier from our church, who recently returned from a tour in Iraq, shared with us last night regarding the importance of our vote. He shared with us how he was stationed in Iraq during the Iraqi people's first opportunity to participate in an election. He told how citizens of that country walked for 12 miles and more, passing through numerous military check points to participate and to vote in their election. He reminded us of how snipers were posted all over the area where the elections were held, because militants were killing citizens and terrorizing them on their journey to vote. He shared how those same citizens were so proud of finally being able to vote, and were so thankful of the opportunity, that they braved horrendous conditions to make their voice heard and their vote count.
We have the opportunity to make a difference with our vote. Don't take this right for granted! On a good year, statistics show that only 40% of Americans make their way to the polls. What a shame to our nation! If one does not vote, it is my personal opinion that I have no use for hearing their complaints about the condition of our nation. This is your opportunity to speak out. Your chance to help determine the future of your nation. Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 4th, 2008 (if you have not already done so) go to your polling station and VOTE!!!! However, don't only VOTE, but make it count.........

Edmund Burke:
All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing.
