Writer's Block.....

Haven't been feeling so inspired to write lately. Maybe because so much writing goes into grad classes. However, for the time being, this blog is pretty boring and silent. Hopefully, the inspirational juices will get to flowing again soon. :)

Life.....

Special Friends at Christmas - Doing what we do best......being silly!

Life has been busy, exciting, emotional, challenging, and educational lately. The second session of my MBA has started (I am actually in my 3rd week) and it has been challenging. This 8 week period, my course has been "Intro to Leadership" and it has been incredibly enlightening. We've been discussing "Leadership" from every angle and it has been amazing! I'm glad I chose this as my emphasis, because I see so many ways it applies to so many areas of my life, even outside of the business realm.

We are currently in revival and starting the year off with 30 days of chain prayer and fasting. I'm excited to see what God is going to do this year. Some momentous decisions need to be made in the next few months. God has already answered one prayer and has given me direction in one major situation. I'm thankful for God's care, protection, leading and the confirmation of his guidance.

My parent's 50th anniversary is this year, my nephew is getting married, my brother and his wife will celebrate 25 years of marriage, my oldest sister and her husband will dedicate their brand new church building that is finally completed (after 3 years in a building project), and my middle sister and her husband will graduate from college. This is a year of momentous events! However, through it all, revival will still be our focus and our goal. This family's life is wrapped up in the work of God. We have many busy days ahead and much work to be done. Life is exciting as usual and God is an incredibly faithful and wonderful God, as always! :)

Psalm 16:11 (King James Version)
"11Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." There is nothing on earth like living for the Lord. :) No treasure, no riches, no career, no lifestyle, and no education can compare.

P.S. Praise Report: My father's Vietnamese guide, whom he has been praying for the last two years, received the HG during my father's mission's trip in December. God is doing a work in North Vietnam and is carving out a church that is truly doctrinally sound. Please keep this nation in your prayers.

Economic Bind?

America is in an economic bind, or so we keep hearing.  However, not too much of a bind to host a $175,000,000.00 dollar presidential inauguration.  At least, according to today's news by Paul Harvey and Rush Limbaugh.  Not to mention.... all of those bailed out banks that are contributing portions of their bailout funds to the inauguration.  More info at http://forums.therandirhodesshow.com/index.php?showtopic=18512.

Sounds like America's got it's economic priorities straight! ;)

Love......

.....this CD!Check out number 9 "The Essence of your Presence."  Incredible for devotion, altar call, prayer-time...  Beautiful!

Psalms 24 - Amplified Version
1THE EARTH is the Lord's, and the fullness of it, the world and they who dwell in it.(A)
2For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the currents and the rivers.
3Who shall go up into the mountain of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His Holy Place?
4He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted himself up to falsehood or to what is false, nor sworn deceitfully.(B)
5He shall receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6This is the generation [description] of those who seek Him [who inquire of and for Him and of necessity require Him], who seek Your face, [O God of] Jacob. Selah [pause, and think of that]!(C)
7Lift up your heads, O you gates; and be lifted up, you age-abiding doors, that the King of glory may come in.
8Who is the King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.
9Lift up your heads, O you gates; yes, lift them up, you age-abiding doors, that the King of glory may come in.
10Who is [He then] this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah [pause, and think of that]!

Leadership....

"....behavior is regulated by values and goals."  ~A.J. Dubrin

Currently Reading.......

"What Women Wish You Knew About Dating"
Author: Stephen Simpson, PHD

"Leadership: Research Findings, Practice, and Skills"
Dubrin-Fifth Edition

Pretty heavy duty stuff and quite the contrasting subjects. :) Interesting and enlightening nonetheless.....

*FYI: Although the first book listed is basically written from a christian perspective, I would not recommend apostolic youth to follow or identify with Chapter 7 of the book.  The author speaks of and identifies activities and dating environments that are not consistent with the apostolic lifestyle as being possibilities and interactive environments.  Other than this chapter, I am to chapter 8 and the book has been a good read and enlightening for both male and female perspectives on dating.

Get Blitzed.......

......it's a blast!!!

The first time I played this game was during a month long revival. Our evangelists, under the aliases of Uncle Buck and Aunt Toddie, taught us to play this fast-paced, high energy, incredibly addictive game.  Their two accomplices, Critter and Joel, were also part of the gig.  In fact, my sis and I got in trouble more than once for being out past curfew (Yikes!).  That is how addictive this crazy game was. We'd get in the middle of a hot round of Dutch Blitz and before we knew it, it would be 2:30 and 3:00 am before we got home.  Our father was kind though and was very patient with us as we worked our way through the addiction of Dutch Blitz. We got delivered, or so we thought.

Until..........this past Friday night. The cousins invited us over for a party and what was awaiting us but none other than that imp, Dutch Blitz.  After *hckm* (this might tell my age) 16 years of deliverance, all it took was one game and we were hooked again.  Yep!  So hooked that, it was after 1:00 am before I darkened the doors of my home Saturday Morning.  And that was only because we refused to let Jake raise the bar to a 1000. He already had raised it from 250 to 350 to 500 and finally 600. He will have dreams for weeks of me admonishing him to "Flip fast and shuffle dude!  That is the key to winning the game! The more cards that are on the table, the better off we are!!" He'll be practicing in his sleep before he lets me be his partner again. :)  Oh well!!! The game was on! What fun, what fun!  Need a new game? Check out Dutch Blitz and get ready for a night of good, clean, competitive fun!
